The core of who we are is our community. We go beyond delivering a solid return to our shareholders and high-quality services to our customers as our goal is to be A Real Community Bank™.

When Alamosa State Bank first opened our doors in 1907, we were owned by nine local businessmen. In 1989 the bank was sold to another group of local investors who were interested in helping the bank grow into the best bank in the San Luis Valley. The group of businessmen were Leroy Belt, Tom Ford, Clyde Helms, Jr., Ove Nielsen, Paul ‘Bud’ Nielsen and Henry ‘Butch’ Southway.

These local businessmen knew that to make a strong bank, we need a strong community involvement. Our employees and culture make the difference. Many of our employees and managers have been with Alamosa State Bank for 15 years or more. This dedication allows us to build long-term community and customer relationships.

Because we live where we lend, our community roots are deep and strong. When banks are strong, schools, hospitals, churches, farmers, ranchers, restaurants, and other locally owned businesses are strong too. To keep this strength going we invest in our community by investing in sponsorship, contributing donations, and sharing our generosity with others.
